Dr Stephen Dinneen
We believe in a holistic approach to healthcare, book in with our friendly team today.
I was drawn to a career in Osteopathy as I had a desire to help people. The challenge of solving complex problems, the ability to use my hands as a tool, and the opportunity to interact with a variety of people is what attracted me to this line of work.
Before becoming an Osteopath I completed a Bachelor of Human Movement and Sports Science degree, focussing on biomechanics, injury prevention, rehabilitation, and strength and conditioning. This has helped shape my view and approach as an Osteopath, and the way I diagnose, assess, treat and manage my clients, and their outcomes.
I take a holistic approach when assessing and understanding an injury/complaint. I also use this practice in how I treat, manage and rehabilitate my clients. I am hands on with my treatment, and develop a personalised plan for the client, ensuring they are comfortable and have an understanding of how their issue/injury is being treated, and how to best manage their road of recovery.
I use a variety of techniques to treat and manage my client’s individual needs. These include soft tissue massage, joint release and articulation, dry needling, cupping, stretching, inhibition and functional techniques. A lot of these skills have been developed over years of learning and professional development, something I am committed to and continue to share with my colleagues.
Variety is the spice of life! I enjoy the challenge of treating a wide variety of complaints, from lower back, ribs, jaw, and neck injuries, to shoulders, elbow, hips, knees and feet complaints. I treat them all. I love working with children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, across various professions, from desk jobs, to tradies, to athletes. I also have experience treating pregnancy related issues, headaches and migraines, joint replacements and post surgery rehabilitation.
Away from work I love spending quality time with my family and watching my kids grow up. Travelling and creating memories with them is a favourite. I stay fit running and like to jump in some races now and again to test myself. I coach a running squad, Dinneen Runners, with over 60 people from beginners and fun runners up to elite level athletes across all ages.
I’m excited to lead Doncaster Osteopath and Wellness Centre and support our team in caring for our community.
